Stirring Up Something New

Hello again!

It’s been a slow day, but slow doesn’t mean idle. I got this blog up and running, which feels like a big step forward. I’ve decided to focus my time and energy on my tiny homestead this summer—doing what I can, learning as I go, and sharing the process along the way. It won’t always be perfect, but it’ll be real!

I also ordered a new seed starting tray—one I’ve used (and loved) before, but gave away during a decluttering spree I now regret. If you’re starting seeds this season too, here’s an affiliate link—it’s a simple tool, but a good one.

And because no day is really complete without something warm from the kitchen, I baked a batch of black bean brownies using a recipe shared with me by a dear neighbor from a past chapter of life. My two youngest love them—and honestly, so do I.

While the brownies were in the oven, something big was happening outside the kitchen: my oldest got her learner’s permit. Just like that, another milestone. A day of quiet beginnings and meaningful moments—slow, maybe, but full.

Before I head to bed tonight, I’ll feed the sourdough starter. It’s one more thing checked off the list—and I’m excited to start baking bread again.

Until tomorrow,
Amanda
